About Sefton
Sefton is a metropolitan borough in Merseyside, with a diverse geography stretching from the Liverpool suburbs of Bootle and Litherland in the south, through Crosby, to the coastal resort of Southport in the north. It includes the vital Port of Liverpool access at Seaforth and large areas of dunes and nature reserves along the Sefton Coast, such as Ainsdale and Formby (known for its red squirrel reserve). The population is around 275,000. Landmarks include the Iron Men statues ('Another Place') on Crosby Beach, Southport's Victorian pier and Lord Street, and the historic Antony Gormley.
